Default N/A vs. Supercharged

So my friend has a supercharged ss and I have a NA and we were wondering how much faster the supercharged was so we raced. I pulled on him from 0-50 and then he came by me and beat me buy about 2 car legnths to 100
It seems like the S/C would help out more than that
any imput?

The supercharged Monte SS's are supposed to run ~15.0 in the 1/4 mile, and the N/A Monte's are supposed to run ~16.0.

I can verify that my 2000 N/A SS has ran a 16.08 in the 1/4 mile, but I do not know what stock Supercharged Montes run. All the ones at my local track are modded out.

A second in the quarter is a big deal, and he should have got you way before you hit 50mph, and pulled you more than 2 cars to 100mph,unless he was spinning badlyat the start. When I race my uncles '02 stock SSEI Bonneville from a stop, I get him up to about 35mph, then hepulls on me pretty bad, but I think thats only becuase he spins really bad off the line. Up to 100mph I'd say he'dget me by about5-7 cars.

I'd say that you have a really good running 3800, or his SC has some problems? Maybe alot of miles? Needs tuned up? Not running premium Gas, etc... I'm guess that both of the cars are Monte's here, right?

He's not going to have the HP if he's not running 93 octane He needs to be careful about spark knock, as he may be damaging his pistonies.
Also, yours has different gearing, and that had an influence. You have a 3.29:1 final drive, and the S/C has a 2.93:1. That's why you got him off the line.
I'm looking forward to going to the 3.29:1 someday in my Intimidator. My '01 SS LE seemed really quick off the line. I noticed the difference between the 2 cars.

yeah I was thinking it had to be gearing or something because everybody I have raced I have killed them off the line then everybody always comes back at 40-60

He probably has chipped the hell out of his pistons. If you run a supercharged monte you NEED to run premium.Even bone stock some of the monte's have knock issues, pulling the premium just garauntee's he will be causing engine damage.

My first thought was wheel spin on the s/c car- once that bbv closes at low rpm in 1st, its easy for the tires to start spinning. But then I saw you posted this:

All I have is a k&n filter and im running premium gas
he isnt running premium maybe thats why?
Thats totally backwards- you have no reason to be running premium at all, and he absolutely must be running premium. He's lucky he beat you at all- but he's definitely a moron...

I noticed the same thing, but my 03 is slightly modded and the 05 is bone stock (for now). My plans are to change the oil to Mobil 1, CAI (I am looking at the Thrasher Engineered Performance Cold Air Induction Kit from 3800 performance), and u-bend delete possibly a down pipe with high flow cat.
