No red bow ties on any of the 4th gen Montes I've ever seen other then those the owner put on.

My '86 LS sure doesn't have any on it.

I have an 06 LT and I am interested in taking off the GM logos on the sides of the car. How are those put on and what is the best way to take them off?

Thanks,
Mike

I bought two sets. Got 'em on the lower quarter's ahead of the rear wheels along with Monte Carlo script badges. Looks like it came that way. Stuck another one right on the Dash ... high and in the middle above the glove compartment. Still trying to figure-out how to get the other one left to stick to a T-shirt!

Warm 'em up with either a blow drier/heat gun or let 'em sit in the sun for a few hours, then you can either take fishing line and run it under them or use something to pry them off. They are only stuck on with double sided tape.

Make sure you clean off the dirt around them before, you don't want to be scratching your finish.

Actually, I managed to pull the LT badging on the trunk off just by grabbing each letter and pulling them right off.

It looks different. As long as the OP likes it who cares.

I got a front Black bow tie with a small SS in it I will be installing it this weekend.
Then I'll try to remove the gold foil in the trunk one and make it black as well.

Here is my front bow tie.

Hey Space,
I got it from a member on another forum he didn't seem to like the SS so small, so he kept just an SS emblem on the front. Even though he came up with the design. But he got http://www.grafxwerks.com/to make it for him. and they do sell it.

Yeah I saw Got Bot's bow tie mods and that kinda got me moving on doing mine. I have been thinking about it for a while but never started it. lol. His write up will be very helpful.

One of the first things I did was remove those stupid little GM emblems, and I couldn't believe how much better it looked. I used a hair dryer as well, and was able to pull them off easily with just my fingers. In fact, these are the easiest of all the emblems to take off, and there's not much residue to remove.

There's a guy on Ebay that sells virtually any Chevy emblem you might want, and most are new or NOS. I've never purchased anything from him, but he's logged over 17,000 transactions. Just enter "bowtie emblem" as a search term, and his Ebayseller name is mikep134.
