Plans for the car:

IF I decide to keep it, Im going to start a 5.4l DOHC Supercharged build for it. Not likely, but the option is there. I still need to do an alarm system for it, since I will be moving here pretty soon to a "less secure" location.

Most likely I will be driving it until I decide to sell it within the next year or so then pick up a 2011/2012 Challenger SRT8 (Possible 392 pending insurance rates).

Plans for me:

I done with school and am a 2nd Lieutenant with the 83D Military Police unit out of El Paso, TX. I just moved from wisconsin to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for training. Im here until june until I pack up again and then move to El Paso for at least 3 years, if not indefinitely. I am in the Reserves, so I'm currently trying for El Paso PD (going through their academy). Out of 1100 applicants I'm one of the top 100, but there are only 60 spots available. Complete the academy and its a guaranteed job through EPPD. Ill find out in June if I get the spots after a polygraph test and a few other obstacles.

Thanks for the compliments guys, its nice to know even a Rustang can get a few looks in here. I'll try to stick around a bit more as long as I get a break from the Military life now and then.

Nice Mustang! Looks great, like the black. When my '03 Monte got totaled about a year and a half ago I actually looked at the 4th Gen ('99-'04) Mustang as one of my option for my next car. Just couldn't do it though.

Looks nice. The parking garage pics I think look the best!
Pretty clean. My wife has an '01 v6 convertible (had it since '07), I was surprised when I learned that the hood on a lower model Mustang is not steel (it's fiberglass or some composite material).

Thanks for the input guys. Im pretty much done modding it for now, since I'll be moving in june and starting life all over again. All that means is more bills to pay.

Mustangs actually are built to be pretty light. My cobra is 3430 lbs, but that includes a massive V-8 and IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) that greatly helps with traction around tight cornering. Granted, this is also an issue because after a few years they will rattle over every bump. In the lightest rain it sounds like hail pounding on a tin shed roof and I can take my door panel off down to the mechanics without removing a screw.

Not 100% quality for "ride".

I do like the S197's (thats the model the 05-09's are called), but the 3 valve engine is poop. Putting a mod on a 2v verses a 4v, the 4 valve will always gain more power.

2v's (96-2004 GT's) < 3v's (2005-2009 Mustang GT's) < 4v's (96-04 Cobra's)

Before 1996, the mighty 5.0 was the thing to have.
