My 2006 Monte was hit.. :(
Hello,
Last night my 2006 Monte Carlo was hit on the way home from work..
I was driving down the road when a woman did not stop at the stop sign.. Well she stopped, but then pulled out when I was like 10/15 feet from the intersection.
The North Chicago Police Officer was very friendly and so far the other person involved was given a citation.
I called Progressive, my insurance company. I am not sure if I should have called her insurance company because I believe that they should be paying. I don't want to get stuck paying my deductible if Progressive decides to cover it themselves.
I know So far I will need the following replaced/repaired.
1 Wheel because it is gouged up.
Front Bumper
Passenger Headlight Assembly
Front Passenger Side fender
Part of the hood is bent.
Will probably need an alignment seeing that the wheel was struck hard enough to gouge.
Most of the damage is on the fender..
She was driving someone else's 2009 Lincoln Navigator....
Thanks,
Jeff

if your air bags deployed, thats probably going to be declared totaled. thats quite alot of damage. if not, then it's going to be a toss up as to whether or not they actually fix it.

So sorry to hear about your Monte. Happy you are OK. My 2007 is in the body shop right now, not as much damage as yours. There have been so many crashes around here, mostly because ppl are distracted, not paying attention. I took mine to Sterling, so I'll let you know how it turned out,

Call her insurance and file on it. Why should your insurance pay for her mistake? My insurance said I only had to call them in an accident if I wanted the claim on my insurance, if not, to call the other driver's insurance.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully the insurance companies will get right on it. When i had my accident earlier this year i had to constantly check to see if they were actually workin on my claim.
Its always a shame when a perfect car gets damaged.

You tell your Insurance Company the other Party is cited and the accident is their fault. Then, get into a Rental Car. When the Insurance Company see that you are using a Rental; they'll put getting your car fixed or coming-in with a supplemental report to keep-down total expense to them getting you back on the road.
If you got popped right at the Strut Tower ... you'll have to have the "Frame Straightened" on device that pullsl it out straight and true. Adds to the bill in a Big Way.
Tough break.
But, I don't think you are going to get totaled unless the repairs are over 8,000
