Monte carlo petition

Full size? The monte carlo is a mid sized car. The only way I would want the monte carlo on the camaro chassis is if somehow they could cut about 300 lbs off the curb weight. Im still saying use the AMAZING Sigma II platform from the CTS and drop some weight by cutting some of the unnecessary luxury items. That way it would be available in RWD AND AWD. I love the new CTS. It handles amazing and feels like a much lighter car than it is. Cut about 300 lbs off that and stiffen the suspension a little and BAM you could have an awesome sports coupe. I think they could do it. I think make the 300hp DI 3.6 standard and then TURBO IT as the performance option. GM has to have a turbo version of the 3.6 somewhere in its R&D department. If ford can make 365hp from a DOHC 3.5 V6 what can GM, the horsepower king do with a turbo 3.6? 400hp? I can see it. GM's 2.0L turbo makes 130hp per liter. 130hp per liter out of a 3.6 is 468hp. 400 seems feasable IMO.

Haha damn. Can you imagine a RWD and an AWD Monte with a 400hp motor? We'd be tearing up the streets man! Say goodbye to EVO's, subies, and everything else!

New Monte Carlo
if gm is phasing out pontiac brand they could use the Zeta platform the G8 was built on that platform. and a G8 was the replacement for the bonneville and grandprix, siblings of our beloved 6th and 7th gen cars. a 6.2 L V8 in a monte carlo ss would be way too wicked.
on a sad note my '87 LS V8 monte just went to car heaven, my grandfather bought that car brand new

AWD would diminish the Monte's appeal to me sure AWD is awesome but i do like lighting up my tires and making them little peckers in imports choke on the burning rubber before their eyes and lungs burn form the exhaust fumes they get once i get in front of them. RWD is for a real driver. i've never heard of a FWD or AWD nascar or formula 1 race car and muscle was built on pulling the nose into the air drag racing.
but thats just my opinion

Guys, we want GM to make the new monte affordable if they bring it back. Not 30-40k with a 400+hp motor in it. Then no one will have it except the wealthy...er...I'd say, making the monte in RWD (SS's and kinda make it like a high performance special edition monte's with 300-350hp motor NA and SC) and then bring back the FWD Monte's (SS and LS 200-260hp motor NA and SC or hell, turbo) but also price them new around 19-25k to compete with tuner cars. GM need to focus on the younger crowds and make good, reliable tuner cars to compete with those scions and civic line ups. If GM makes that, and a really good Aftermarket performance upgrades, then, I bet you people will start buying them more than scions and civics.

The monte carlo is never going to compete with civics and scions. It isnt even the same class of car. Those are compact cars. Thats what the cobalt and the future Cruze is supposed to compete with, not the monte carlo. The monte carlo is a staple in Nascar and has racing in its blood. Im sorry, but if GM brought back the monte carlo and it still only had a low output v6 and front wheel drive, I wouldnt waste my money on it, but thats my opinion. Not every one has to be a 40,000 dollar 400hp car. Hell the G8 GXP was a 40,000 dollar car and it was WAY bigger than the monte and had 4 doors. There is no reason they couldnt start them under 25k. The new camaro starts under 25,000 and its RWD with the 300hp v6 base. If you want a cheap tuner car to go rice around on the streets but a freaking cobalt and have at it. Dont disgrace the monte carlo that way. I would rather it never come back than to come back that way.
BTW, here is a little rendering I did. I used the CTS as a starting point:
