good idea to have thier ok for useing a logo of any kind. But also to give you some help. it is better to have a club that more then one person can join if you have several car makes that can join it is a better chance of survial for it. good luck!!

Yeah I think I am going with all SS vehicles. I emailed chevy a few days ago with no reply yet. I will do it again at the end of the week because I think the name will be something like "SS Club" or "Chevy SS Club" and I dont want to have to change it if they decide I cant legally use SS/Chevy. Also I have been looking at website names and dont want to register one that has "ss" or "chevy" in it without their permission. I know there are several sites using trademarked names without permission, I just want to play it safe is all.

Will update once I get things rolling.

the club should be SS monte carlo any year, after all we do communicate through the monte carlo forum. it's all about the monte guys. i'm in south florida pm me let me we'll get together and get something going.

I thought about doing just the Monte Carlo thing but in my area there are not any of them. South Ga sux. Out of all the people that have them I wouldnt expect many to show up. So if I go with all SSs then I have more chance for more members and a better chance to check out some awesome cars!

Here are a few logos I have been messing with for the site/club. I am no photoshop expert so believe me, I do not think it is great BUT it aint horrible. I still have not heard back from chevy on use of their names/logos for a car club so I am just messing around until I do hear back.

Hey Mallet! Funny you should say that about computers... I've been a web site developer for 10 years (and also build custom systems) so I can definitely help out there!!

I'm all for getting a club/site together... and I hear ya about money - don't need to have "dues" or anything just to be part of the club... any get-togethers that happen around here, people would just pay for their own stuff - food, hotels, etc etc, whatever... makes it nice and easy. Then we won't be responsible for keeping track of everyone's money, who paid what. when, etc etc. Anyway, that's my opinion. Obviously if there's a big group get-together, we'd call the location of choice to reserve spots, find out about group pricing, etc etc.

But anyway, let me know...

I used their online contact form (3 times over the week) and no response. I will be calling them on monday to see if that might speed up a response. Any other suggestions on how to do it?

we dont have any dues in our clubs at all. all decales etc.. are purchased on a as needed oreder we will get orders togeather then everyone gives up the cash so we can pay for it.
nothing fancy about it and it makes it nice to know you dont have to pay dues every year or so.

Well I called Chevy and they said I had to snail mail their public relations dept which I plan on doing tomorrow or wed. So I will let you guys know how it goes. It seems most people think the $20 a year is a bad idea?
