Come on you can get a montie for 3000$ good shape. You cant get any car with a body like this for that price. Why is that? Just sold my sonata V6 for 9000$ same miles. Love the car But if you dont got a V8 na.

It’s called depreciation; has nothing to do with the engine “sucks” as you put it. As you may know, American cars do not hold their value well.

What you should have said is the engine makes relatively little power, not that it’s sucks (Cuz you can make em blow & they very strong). Many, many, & many have pulled a helluva lots of power out of L36/L67/L32 and still going strong – Hell look at Zippy02's car…??? 500+ to the wheels...or even Zipper with 300+whp..

And stop humping V8s, I've walk a few 96 Impalas and really nothing special.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m dying for a New SS1 Camaro but to say the engine are weak or sucks you should be banned…lol

I dont know what $3000 montes you have been looking at, but I bet they arent in good shape unless they are older and well cared for. Whatever year and condition your hyundai was in to get $9000, I bet a $3000 monte wouldnt be any where near the year/condition. The motors in these cars are about as rock solid as they come. I doubt any foreign car will have any more reliable of a motor than you will find in a monte carlo.

I think it should be obvious that these engines are pretty good I checked out clubgp's top dyno list for 3800's and I'm not even in the top 50. You have to have at least 400whp to get in that list (maybe I'll be there someday ). Zippy's Monte though with 530whp is awesome. And don't forget ZZP's 870whp Grand Prix. Tons of potential.

Back on topic though, I would suggest doing something performance wise. Maybe a trip to ZZPerformance could be inspiring.

I'm looking to do simple, but fun mods. If I find something I really want that is pricey I would get the money together and do it for sure.

And about the motor thing, I think that the 3800s are amazing motors for sure. I have 130 k on mine and it's still strong as ever. They are very reliable motors too! Only problem I had with one was last year I had a Pontiac grand prix GTP and the engine blew because it was not taken care of and the supercharger had something wrong with it, but other than that, I love em'.

What makes you happy? In the end, the car will be a reflection of your personality. Are you going for an aggressive look or something more feminine? There are unlimited possibilities. Two things that will have a HUGE impact on style are new wheels and window tint. When you get the chance, post some pictures of the ride and maybe we could help more. Welcome to the forum!

Something that I find really helps people spend their money on mods, is looking at the forum's photo gallery. The link is in the purple stripe at the top of the page. Second link from the left.

Take a look around at your leisure at the member's pictures. There are so many great ideas in there. And if there's anything you see that you aren't sure of, simply ask the forum. We'll be happy to help.

Sorry if I missed it, but what color is your car? Knowing the exterior color might help making suggestions for cosmetic mods. How do you feel about stripes in general?
