I have a 2002 monte with the auto dim miror now in it, did they ever put in one that had the compass and temp with maplights in them, if so does anyone have a part#

Yes, they DID put them in with maplights, never with compasses. On the SS's, at least the 00-05's, the compasses were in the Upper console, along with the buttons for the sunroof, and computed gas mileage.

You can find it on ebay, I looked for a factory direct number, and had no such luck...

I have look for a stock GM# and never could locate one,Genx makes one for it but for $300.00 i will let them keep it.

Same with 06-7's. Trip computer is in the Speedo, allthough there are map lights. I do know the GMC Sierras do have it in the mirrors, so Id assume the same with avalanches, and Silverados. Might be something to look at.

 

let me see if i understand this,if i get the cable from bb and a rearview from a chevy truck or suv i can get that compass to show up on the rearview?

Actually from what I understand that is for the DIC.... which has the compass and all that, only not in the rearview mirror, in the dash area, what they call the drivers information center. It's really handy, but would be worthless without all the buttons to control it... so I don't know how they'd do that.
