I've been fortunate enough to become friends with a few of the members in this group. I've chatted with a couple on and off through the last cpl years. Today I met up with "Drivernumber3" in his town as I was traveling to a job in Colorado. It is was worth stopping to meet such a car enthusiast. He is a genuine great guy. Hopefully I can stop on the way back and hit a car show with him.
That was one of my favorite parts of living in the Midwest back during the heyday of W body modding.
I attended a handful of Ultimate Monte Meets and got to meet a ton of members from the old Mymonte site. Plus I attended a handful of the 3800 centric race days (IDD, etc) even though I was way more into sound systems at the time.
Since moving out to AZ, the only monte forum member Ive met was Zippy02 at one of the half mile events / car shows out at Gila Bend (which was great to see his beautiful car). I used to hang out with the local GP club 5 or so years ago (as I had a GP GXP at the time) but after a few of the major members moved on to different platforms, the regular meets fell apart.
Wow! Thanks Jeff always great to meet good folks. He even brought me some Dale E, stuff that I didn't have....imagine that? Lol
Hope he stops back when he is coming thru.
I agree, it is very fortunate to meet some of our extended car family once in a while. Despite some geography between me and a couple car friends, I have a few great ones in the list. Some I am lucky to meet with almost once a year.
So far I have been able to meet the folks that own the 4th Gen Monte Carlo in Blue they were at a show in St. Louis when I was stationed there for disaster work back in 15,
Then I was at the Monte Carlo National meet in Bowling Green, KY I met Tadd, and Barb the fellow in the Black T-shirt Mel from Louisiana, I can't remember his last name but he has a beautiful White 06/07 Monte with orange accents, then Roger Clark with his Earnhardt styled Monte Carlo.
Then I meet Lisa from Georgia and took some photo's with here car nice Black Monte Carlo she calls the Black Rose, I even made her a customized engine cover for it. Years ago this is probably why somebody invented conventions. LOL
