Maybe someone knows....
OK, so I just bought a 1981 Monte Carlo Landau with what the owner thinks is a locked up motor. When me and my mech. started checking it out, and researching, we've hit a wall ... Everything I can find says that Landau si supposed to have a 305 in it, but this ain't a 305, its a 267. Is this a true Landau?
Is does have the landau logo on the top and tail lights, but a stock monto carlo script on the side and most ive seen say landau. and when we looked up the vin is just says its a standard monte carlo.
VIN:
1G1AZ37J5BB445487

Well, we did that without taking anyting off and it seems locked, but we're gunna removed all the restriction and see if we can break it loose and rebuild. found a kit for a little over 500$ ... its for my old lady so I dont need anything more than whats already in it.
This is our '81 Landau Monte Carlo.
It came stock with a 229 V6 under the hood.
So just cause your car may have a Landau roof, doesn't mean it came with a V8 engine.
(our's does not even say "Landau" on it, by the way)
