Low engine oil stop engine

Default Low engine oil stop engine

So I'm trying to figure out how to work this site I just got my hands on a Chevy Monte Carlo it's a 2006 white I need a bumper for it little stuff like that but as I'm driving the car I noticed the engine light comes on and says stop engine oil pressure low for the life of me I cannot determine why it's doing that can anyone help me.

You'll need to put a mechanical gauge on the engine to check oil pressure. Could be as simple as a bad sending unit of the engine may be going south. If you're not very familiar with adding a gauge I'd suggest bringing it to a local shop. Granted it may cost a few dollars but cheaper than blowing the engine up and needing a tow truck.

I agree. Those cheap pressure sensors have a tendency to fail. Id definitely stop driving it until you can confirm with a mechanical gauge though. You'd hate to completely destroy the engine if it really is low on pressure (as the gauge turn on threshold is extremely low).
