Hi Todd,
I wondered where you have been?

Your post makes me sad 4-Sure.

I can relate to having to sell a Monte.
I sold mine to pay `off my college expenses, & am slowly
building my Monte Fund 4 another one.

I hope that you will be able to find another position soon.
Our World is full of sad stories, and I pray/hope
that our World improves with our new leadership.

We wish you the very best in your `job search & in life.
Also, I hope you get top $ 4 your beautiful Monte SS.
Good Luck `Todd ~>4-Sure

Sorry to hear about you loosing your job Todd. I sympathize with you. I'm going back to college after 35 years! Maybe you can turn this around and get a higher degree and go to the college instruction level. Best of luck to you in whatever you do.

BTW, I just re-financed my MC, trying to hold onto it. We have 4 cars. The '82 Olds will probably have to be sold.

Sorry Todd. I had to sell my 06 Mini Cooper S because I lost my job back at the end of July. I still haven't found anything perm yet - but working a temp job. COBRA insurance is killing me. But on a side note I got my 05 Monte SS supercharged (I have always wanted one). I cut my payments in half. I got a great deal on my Monte - it has a little more miles than I wanted and since it was a highway car the front end condition isn't up to par, but I am happy with it.
Good luck. Can you look for work in another district? I have a job interview at a company that is 25 miles away from my house. That is a lot further than I wanted to travel but I guess I have to take what I can get. It is decent pay for the position so I am keeping my fingers crossed for me and everyone else that has lost their jobs.

Funny. I thought Obama was pro education and that was part of the stimulus package.

Good luck with your future.

The stimulus package is most of the reason I'm going back to college. $12,000 of tuition and books, and up to 130 weeks of unemployment, IF you qualify. It was 104 weeks max.

Here is a link to the main page, with about a thousand links off it, but a VERY important link for ANYONE that has lost their job to overseas competition!

Unfortunatley the state of Oregon is screwed. They need 17 billion for the next 2 years to maintain current levels and they are looking at 12 billion for the budget. It was announced today that one of the cuts could be 2 months from the school year next year. Fed money will help a little, but as always it comes with restrictions on what you can and can't do. Currently there are 4 teaching jobs available in the state of Oregon and the nearest one recieved 2000 applicants with the majority of people having 10 years of service or more and lots of endorsments for reading, math, ect.. With 2 years experience I am getting bumped out. I am back in school for my Masters currently and may have to sell my house and move to Alaska as they are hiring. In our district we have 205 teachers this year and 50 of us will not have jobs next year. If I can sell the car I will be in a much better place to survive this current recession by subbing. I just want to sell it and try and save my credit.

I hope it gets better for everyone soon. If you need a monte for a good price I am willing to sell it for less than I owe and pay the difference to save my credit. Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Sorry to hear about the job situation Todd.

I would've thought that teachers and health care professionals would be the last ones to be cut back.

How about cutting back on politicians and keeping our teachers.
