im looking to buy 87 ss from a guy
he says that in hot summer day aftre one hour the car might puff some white smoke... he said he took it to be checked once and the mecanic said that the car dont burn oil.. and he thinks it might be some fuel stock in the carb????
i dont know almost nothing about mecanic issues
could it be head gasket
i will appreciate any help

might need to adjust carb from winter to summer settings. check radiator fluid, check to see if carb, valve cover or anything engine and under car is leaking. listen for ticking, tapping sounds from engine, how old is the motor, tranny, body. what size motor? actually drive the car around a street, pick up speed, feel how tranny shifts. she might be old but monte carlos are made to last. is it a real ss? these are questions i would ask and things i would inspect. unless ur looking for trouble or a project car
