I was referring to the name plates on the side and back of the car. But if you have the Monte Carlo windshield banner, and are still getting mistaken for an Impala or Lumina, there's no hope for the person.
I wonder if there's any 4th gen Monte owners that get comments like, "Nice Grand Prix" or "Nice Grand National -- those things had a V6, right?"
Of course what ever generation Monte you have. When ever you correct the person, their response is: "ahh, same thing."

I don't see very many Montes around here, so they seem to be a rarity. I'm always getting people asking me what kind of car mine is...as they're staring at the nameplate on the quarter panel.

Same here,many teachers at school who have been around the 80's montes think mines a v8 and tell me it was a bad choice of car,that results in a fun day...lol
