just a quick question
i'm pretty sure about this, i just want to make sure before i order it
cold air intake for my 05 monte carlo should be the same as one for an 04 shouldn't it???i can't look one up for an 05
and it says that the max hp gain is @ 5224 rpm, the car doesn't get up that high in rpms very often though, so is it really that much of a gain to put it in??

The gain is measured close to the same rpm as your peak horsepower. You will have a gain throughout the rpm band, but the mose significant gain will be at that rpm, just like your HP rating. That is normal. It doesn't mean that you will have no gain until you reach that rpm.
Yeah, I've heard good things with that one. There is a guy on MyMonte.com called xstioloitsx or something that had that system or a KN system very similar. He liked it but traded it in for a fenderwell intake.
The FWI allows more and cooler air in, but looks ugly as hell and has some light danger with it as it is not as enclosed.
