Just need to vent about my Monte

All cars are going to have these problems, did you do them on your own? The more you do on your own, the more you'll save

my 02 had an electrical issue, I turned the brights on one night on a ride home, and when I turned them off, my headlights didn't work. I took it to 2 garages, they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So, I was sick of spending the $ and bought my 06 :p

Same thing happened to me, turned on the brights to help someone find a part to a mini chopper I was buying and then no headlights lol. Till this day they still dont work but I found a way around it

Yeah it sounds like all the normal wear issues are going all at once on you. I mean, it sucks, but these are good cars. With my '03, the only issue I had to address was a rear wheel hub that crapped out and a battery. Other than that, the parts I did replace were at their point of needing to be replaced before I had issues, i.e. half shafts, ball joints, control arm bushings, struts, few other things but nothing major.

I had lots of front end problems in my 03 Monte. I was replacing axles, wheel bearings, and hubs etc.. every 10 to 12 months, And was coming up to replacing everything again. I was also getting funny electric issues as well, 1 of which was the high beams.. All in all this was one of the reason I traded the monte

it seems that whenever i make repairs on my'01ss it exposes another $$$sign
I really used to like this car, but lately it is trying my patience.
In the past 3 months I've replaced a wheel hub, the alternator, had to have the heater core back flushed, had valve cover gaskets replaced, had intake manifold gaskets replaced, and now I am having the gauge cluster repaired. 940 in repairs on a car that isn't even paid off yet.
To make things worse, There is another new sound that will need to be checked out, a "wub wub" noise (no, nobody dropped the bass) when decelerating at low speed accompanied by a roar when turning left (already replaced the bearing on the right front)Both the wub noise and the roar seem to be centered in the front of the car and can be felt through the floor. I am really hoping it isn't the trans.
