Default Just need to vent about my Monte

I really used to like this car, but lately it is trying my patience.

In the past 3 months I've replaced a wheel hub, the alternator, had to have the heater core back flushed, had valve cover gaskets replaced, had intake manifold gaskets replaced, and now I am having the gauge cluster repaired. 940 in repairs on a car that isn't even paid off yet.

To make things worse, There is another new sound that will need to be checked out, a "wub wub" noise (no, nobody dropped the bass) when decelerating at low speed accompanied by a roar when turning left (already replaced the bearing on the right front)Both the wub noise and the roar seem to be centered in the front of the car and can be felt through the floor. I am really hoping it isn't the trans.

How are the axles? Sometimes when a hub goes bad, an axle isn't too far behind.

Honestly a $50 part.

For what its worth, all parts on cars eventually go bad. You are just getting hit with all of the common ones at one time. It can be tough, but these are DURABLE cars. Small amounts of work here and there and they stay running for a long time.

You make a good point. These are common things, just a real pain to have all at once. On the bright side I'm not having the rust issues you ran into, and the other wheel bearing, LCA bushings and Ball Joints I replaced myself last year, so I should be good on those for a little while.

The CV boots aren't ripped, but I do see some fluid/wet on the trans housing, that's probably a bad thing.

Edit: sorry about the massive pic.

Couldn't kick a car that good looking.

We all try so hard to keep our cars looking great, it hurts when they break on us.

I had a car do that to me. Bright side is when stuff stops breaking and it all gets fixed you will be good for another 80k miles before problems start up again.

You should buy a DSM, and then complain about all of the little issues like this

My 02 monte was doing that, just thing after thing breaking, I got so fed up with paying for repairs, I just traded it in for my 06! Was cheaper to make a higher car payment than keep paying to fix up the 02.
