Lightbulb Just looking to learn

Hey I was looking to post and ask some general questions - if anyone and everybody answered that'd be great - so I have 1 very broad and general question and 1 very specific
1 - How do you tell the generation of your car ?- ie - my 2003 monte ss limited
2 - what are some general mods to start with that are effective but also are worth the money and don't break the bank?
- ie - exhausts - tires - lights - rims - engine parts - ect?
For mods I'm just looking to slowly improve the cars looks and performance - performance first - and if you could explain the benifit to the mod that'd be much appreciated

Btw - I have pics of most of my car if you need pictures to recommend any specific things

Any and all advice would be appreciated -

You have a 6th generation!

Here's the breakdown:

First Generation: 1970-1972
Second Generation: 1973-1977
Third Generation: 1978-1980
Fourth Generation: 1981-1988
Fifth Generation: 1995-1999
Sixth Generation: 2000-2007
