LS or SS? How was the car maintained? Does it look good? Does it shift well when it's warmed up? Etc. Etc.

Shouldn't this "advice" question have been asked prior to purchase?

Sounds like you're already concerned. I'd be too, but if all maintenance has been done on schedule the car should be OK. I'd still have it looked over, top to bottom, and invest some dough in it.

This is the perfect topic for my first post. Tweef I just bought my first MC about a month ago, its a 2001 red ss. She has 238,653 miles on her which 2600 I have added since purchase. At first I was skeptical about buying her, but after having her checked out top to bottom she was actually running better than my 06 Dodge Challenger. I had the oil changed to full synthetic right away, and flushed the radiator and Transmission fluid. She fires up every time and idles like a dream and never heats up, AC blows ice cold, and tranny shifts smooth, engine pulls hard when you give it gas and her body looks amazing. Ill post pics up later today! I bought the car here in FL from an old snow bird couple that drove the car down every winter from MA. That explained the miles then I ran a car fax on her and they sure enough were the only owners and maintained her decently enough. So don't let the miles scare you with proper care these engines can last a good while!

200,000+ miles is a LOT for any car. How it was taken care of is VERY important to how well it will run for you. But be prepared, it's a used car, lots of miles, it will need attention from time to time no matter how good it may be.

I'd love to see pictures if you could, just interested to see how she looks with that mnay miles, I've seen a few nice looking cars that I'd thought had lower miles and they turn out having 220-250k on them
