Red face Jack Is Back!!! AAmco Review

ok ladies and gents im glad to say that i have Jack back....but boy am I annoyed. first off i can say that i will never go to aamco for anything again, im glad i got a lower mile engine but jeez. First off when i dropped the car off i asked would i be able to make payments and the car stays until its paid off, i was told yes. that was not the case, i have 3 days to get my car or it would of been $35 a day until i get it, so i had to finiance it. basically i have 3 months to ay off $1500 and if not i get hit with interest. ok fine.... first off my car is filthy i guess i can understand that seeing as though where it was held, but my interior is dirty like i touch my doors and everything and you get dirt on your hands. Second I AM LEAKING FLUID WHAT THE $^*@!!!! pics will be at the bottom, but i have hard steering when im trying to paralell park, but when driving its fine, the temp gauge seems high which makes me think its the water pump from what i seen. THEN if i want all the old parts off my engine i have to pay extra WTF!!! that means the reinforced upper and lower manifold with gaskets the idler pully, and other work, the only thing they put on was the starter, the cca and i have to get my zzp PLog tomorrow... runs fine no ticking but never again from these guys

Take the car back and tell them it's not done. The leak needs fixed.

Bummer man. Post this along with pics on their social media page. (Every company seems to have one nowadays)

Talk to the shop manager and explain how unsatisfied you are.

If that fails , ask for HIS boss and move on up the ladder until someone does something about it.

So exactly... What did you have them do?
I guess the way it reads im a little confused...

It may just be you have a power steering leak?
The fluid actually looks a wee bit dirty (IMO)...

But I would definitely take it back.. and see if there willing to work with you... You did get a warranty...Correct?

If not...
I would contact there corporate office to get some satisfaction/results.

Me personally.. I would be Livid/Super PO'D as far as leaving the interior oil soaked and full of Greasy to the touch ....
That's no way to run a business..That tells me they are a pretty shadey/not the place to have anything done at!!!!

Sorry to hear about your horrible AAMCO experience. I felt like I wanted to say something earlier when you posted that your car was there, but by then it was way to late. They have one of the worst reputations in the transmission repair industry IMO. Took my CJ7 jeep there years back, and it was like NEVER AGAIN! Seems like things have not changed.

I think they are a franchise and no amount of complaining really will do any good, it all falls on deaf ears. They don't really care about you, your done, next...

All you can do is try and get some satisifaction and then leave bad reviews about them online. But they still won't care.

Least you have Jack home, I think or it's coming back. never trust them suckers again for sure...

Yea there is a warranty on the engine. But you kniw how they might do...labor isnt covered. I'll see tomorrow when I pick up my plog. I thought it might of been the power steering but it wasn't thick like it. Also it tasted.....yes tastedlike the fresh coolant I put in..also smelled a tad bit sweet not as sweet but it was there.....ddon't judge me haha

WOW man, what an ordeal!
First, you are having problems out of the gate, yeah, they need to remedy this. And the fact they did not move the PLOG over? Seriously, the engine was out of the car, such a piece of cake....

If you paid with a charge card you always have the ability to "dispute" the charge if a resolution was not adequately reached.

Anycase, glad you got Jack back, but sorry about the issues. I hope you can get everything resolved.

I'm so sorry to hear about your woah. Talk to the boss and give him "da Philly attitude". I wouldn't go to Reedman-Toll but the techs at Barlow Chevy across the Burlingtion Bristol Bridge on 130 are awesome.
They confirmed a noise i kept hearing after GM paid for a replacement trans that was installed poorly by Kennedy Chevy (obviously before Kennedy closed)the tech from Barlow found Kennedy bent the clutch plate. Use Barlow to confirm the bad work & give their findings to manager
Good luck

Yea imma go after work, it seems to be leaking from that area. I just looked and its dropping off the crank pulley. What is around that area? Also the fluid is still dark and the heat guage was past 50 percent and its 66º outside

I wonder if they put your Air Dam back on, the 4"black plastic scoop looking thing under the front of your car. Is there perhaps air trapped in the cooling system? Does the donor motor smoke when you start it, like bad head gasket white smoke. Is the radiator circulating water, perhaps the donor motor has a bad thermostat.

Is the fluid your talking about being dark an oil or coolant? Like the donor motor has bad coolant elbows?
