Default Its finally out!

I left work early to start working on my Monte and in about 7 hours, I sucessfully pulled the motor. I have to say that an engine hoist would have been way easier but I decided to use a tree and a chainfall. The poor tree is about 3 feet lower than it usually is lol. Some wires I will have to fix or replace and my a/c lines are bent up lol. I also broke a small line under the power steering pump. Still undecided about what motor. I would settle for a L67 because its an easy swap but Im thinking along the lines of a V8 without the LS4 cost lol.

Right. I jsut dont want to go the LS4 route and end up giving up and waste money because its too hard or something.

Congrats on getting it out and making use of your "natural resources" lol! I've heard of people using sturdy tree limbs before.

Lol that kind of looks ghetto/redneck/resourceful the way that you got it out

But congrats on getting it out and I hope the rest of your swap goes good!

The first spot closest to the car is where I sat the motor on the ground. The next ones is where I hooked the motor to the bed of my truck and pulled it in the grass, it fell over and spilled fluid everywhere lol.

Well:
Theres the true definition of the "SHADE TREE MECHANIC"!
Bring back memories for sure...Been there done that!... Sometimes you just have to go with what you have to make it happen!

When I lived in Tennessee...Thats how most everyone I knew did it!
We had the perfect tree and area to get that job done...It was like our yard was the neighborhood garage!

Down and dirty I always called it! Whats a little dirt grease and oil amongst friends! But in the dark? That makes just a weeeee bit more challengeing forsure!
Good Luck with the swap!
The hard parts over...Let the fun begin!
