Default INTAKE

I am going to add the CAI to my car. I was planning on retubing the intake to get ride of the stock intake tube. Everything looks pretty easy but the only problem is I believe it's the crankcase vent/breather in the intake tube. What can I do to make it work?

Could I just drill a hole in the tube and put a grommet there and stick it in or what?

Plan on using this the 3" ID and 6" long to go from throttle body to MAF, I measured and the stock tube is 5" so I can just cut it down

you've already gotten my reply on ls1tech, but I'll post it here for those that do not venture over there and are interested...

=============================================

you'll want to make sure you put on the new intake tube before drilling anything, so you make sure you put the hole in the right spot...

then, take out the base part of that assembly from the current intake hose - that hard plastic tube piece that the hose clicks on to... that piece will pull/pry out...

get a 3/8" ID grommet...

drill a 1/2" hole in the tube...

put the 3/8" ID grommet in that hole...

put that little hard plastic vent tube piece into the grommet...

reinstall the new intake tube...

click the vent tube back on...

done.

===================================

also, might wanna measure your MAF ends and the throttle body... I thought mine was 3" too, until I went to install a new intake hose... come to find out it's 3 1/4" - and my 3" intake hose I had didn't fit.... so I'm still stuck with using the stock intake bellows...

can't find a 45 degree, 3.25" intake hose anywhere...

EDIT: found silicone intake hoses in 45*, 3.25"... but they're friggin' $50+...

It would be interesting if you could do a bit of a writeup, as I am interested in doing the same thing but I don't really have any idea as to how to start...
