Default ICED '98 Monte LS

We had some ice on X'mas eve & the Monte has to be out side for the
1st year -as my oversized double car garage has my Camaro & a Biscayne in there!

Anyway, I had to get the heat gun out to open the doors. What concerns
me on the '98 is that Ice gets on Top of the door handle & If you don't
get it all off -- Then, when you lift up - you scratch your paint!

also, I think I will put plastic mailing tubes over the wipers before the next time it Ices!

What blades do you have? My Bosch Icons usually can just pull the ice right off them with my hands with no problems at all. Never really hard to get ice / snow off of them because they don't have all the grooves as those metal blades have.

Also on that 98 Body Style, in my Lumina I used to have to put my fingers in the top of the door a little and pull while tugging the handle. For some reason the car always froze at the top of the door.

They are Rain-X latitudes & I am not too impressed with them. Next time I will try the
Bosch Icons. I think they have them at AutoZone.

Yeah, your Lumina Door sounds just like my '98 Monte. I didn't want to put on it too
hard, so I got the heat gu out! As for the door handles - I should of used heat gun
on those as well!. Sometimes a cup of "warm" water works well. Problem I had - is when I lifted up - the remaining ice in there scratched the Black paint !

I can't say I ever had the scratching problem, but those damn doors ALWAYS stuck whenever there was any form of ice on the car.

Yeah...It's a pain in the **%%$$!! I may put the '68 Biscayne out with
a car cover on it & put the Monte inside. I know that Aerodynamics were
why they designed it that way.

On the windshield wipers - there are "Pedistals" you can prop them up on
when not in use. maybe that will help!! ? Noticed that Washer Pump is not working. I had a 60/40 in tank. I will wait till it warms up to fiddle w/that !
