you should go for an '03. if you havent figured it out by now, im parcial with my year haha. plenty of mods to play around. i picked my monte up about a year and 4 months ago for $240 a month for 4 years with 2500 down. you should be able to get a great price on one now, since now a 2003 is 6 years old.

 

Any year is fine, as long as it says Monte Carlo SS.

 

Shame your so far away but I guess 17.5k for my 06 SS is a bit out of your range... price and distance.

 

Well, here is an update to our car search.

We went to see a few cars yesterday and found a decent 02 SS. We test drove it and we loved it. So once we came back to the dealer, we started talking numbers and i noticed that my son was getting upset.

I pull him to the side and we started to talk. He said that he didn't want the 5th Gen to be traded in. I asked him WHY? He said that he wanted to see if he could drive it when he got his license. Let me tell you that i was floored. Here is a kid that loves Mustangs and then turns around and tells me he wants to follow in his old man's footsteps as far as cars are concerned.

So i tell Lisa what he said and we walked away form the deal.

So what were are going to do? Were going to put some money together between now and next tax time, put some money from the refund and try to get at least an 06 SS.

As for the 97, once i get my "NEW" car, i plan on rebuilding the 3.1 and the tranny cause i want him to have a great running car for when he turns 16.
