Default how to tell a real 1986 LS monte carlo

hi everyone i am new here and was needing sum help. is there a way to tell if it is a real LS?like maybe wit the VIN??

You can try the site in the link below. Simply type in your VIN, and it'll give you a complete break down of what it came off the assembly line with.

asking if it's a real ls not a ss wow usually it the other way around

Probably not.

Not saying you probably couldn't get one installed. Look at my car. It came from the factory with bucket seats and center console. A lot of the SSs didn't get them.

I do know you could special order even an SC with the gauge package. According to the sales brochure you could. So the SC, LS, or SS could have gotten the gauge package. Although I'm sure it was standard equiptment on the SS.

Yeah my 87 LS has a spoiler on it with bucket seats but i think they were put in after factory. I installed the console. What does SC stand for, never heard of that?

LS you could get stock bucketsand console in them gauge package ,t tops,posi rear, f41 packages but did not come with rear wing opt.
SC stands for sport coupe
