well i got about 25,000 cnd in mine but it was a full frame off resto so money dont go far when you replace everything but it is well worth every peney for me so its all good

$3,000 damage when i backed it into a ditch @ 16 years old ( dad was the owner, had to work it off at his dealership)
$2,500 How much i purchased the car for
$1,500 Stereo
$50 Exhaust tips
$28 Strut tower brace (10 week wait to get from GMPP, hope it fits)
$300 Repaired Hail damage on hood
$250 Oil changes and getting the cruise control fixed

Total - $7,628

Upcoming expenses

$1000-2500 for a new transmission i lost my overdrive the first week i had the car. The valve that moves to shift it into overdrive is stuck. Reason i didn't have it fixed then is it would have been around $600 parts and labor to fix it, and there is shards of metal in my tranny pan from the clutches wearing themselves out. basically i'm waiting till i lose another gear or the whole tranny itself. gives me time to save the money to purchase a new one.)

 

Well at the moment minus gas and a bottle of transmisson fluid nothing yet ... I'm usually stopped in my tracks and tend to put the money towards paying my carnote early lol! I dunno if that's a good or bad thing[&:]

 

Chad -what is the link to the Strut Tower braces from GMPP. I spent 2 hours the other day looking for them and couldn't find them anywhere.... except on other peoples cars.

 

i'll get the part number from work on monday. well the one i ordered that is. i only ordered the front one, we had one rear one in stock that wouldn't fit (was for 2000-2006 MC) hence why i'm HOPING the front one fits with little or no modification. i couldn't find them on GMPP website either.

i'll take a pic once it arrives. It's direct ship from GM so it takes FOREVER. and they don't have a picture in the GMPP catalogue.

and as well the rear one we had in stock wasn't the orange colored one like i've seen in some other posts.....i'll take a pic of the one we had in stock monday as well.

Strut Tower Braces

 

alright the PN for the front is 12498648 and states in the GMPP catalogue for w-body monte carlo/impala 2000-2005 and 1997-2003 grand prix. (this is what i ordered hoping it'll fit onto a 98)

the rear strut tower brace is PN 12498642 and is for the same application. it looks like this. (doesn't fit my 98) hope this helps
