How Much Would It Cost To Make Your CarFast & Furious?

Patrick George

EXPAND1234

Some of us drive cars that are fast. Some of us drive cars that are furious. (I've owned ones that are neither.) But it takes a lot to make a car that's both fast AND furious — about $70,000, according to this estimate.
Just in time for Fast & Furious 6, artist Nickolay Lamm of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk cooked up this graphic that shows what he thinks it would take to turn a boring, sleepy old Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X into a proper tuner car like you'd see in the films with the help of Epic Tuning.

Fast And Furious 6 Is No Longer A Car Movie

Screw cars, this next chapter Fast and Furious is all about muscle. You've got Vin…Read more

It's a fun assessment, and quite detailed. Check out the full version below. What say you, Jalops? Is this about accurate?

Fightin' words for sure! According to my sources here, Honda has hardly ever built a Civic that could get into the 14s stock - any easy feat for a 5.3 Monte SS and doable for a Supercharged 3.8 as well. And those are the best Civics, not the average 17 second Civic. And I don't know why you gotta drop the FWB either - FWD Monte's are faster than there RWD counterparts if we're talking stock vehicles still. Obviously, a RWD can be built more. But my second time out at the strip was to embarrass a buddy who had built a '70 Monte with a crate engine and some gears. To much car tho. He said mine wasn't a real Monte and I made him take it back. He was a good sport. Than he spanked me in his '88 Mustang, but I usually leave that part of the story out! I shouldn't because that Mustang broke a valve later that night racing someone else...

but that's another story!

I've probably spent $4000 in performance mods. That's the number I like to think and wouldn't want to really do the math out of fear of it being worse. I comfortable with $4000, mostly little stuff, but it adds up. It's probably about a second faster than stock in the 1/4

I've spent a lot of money on mods for my Monte...

But if we are just talking performance mods, I have maybe $1000 into performance related mods, TUNE, INTAKE and EXHAUST.

And for the record, my mildly modded, 3.5L Monte with FWD can take most Civic's any day. And I JUST ran up against a guy in a early 2000's (I'd say) BMW 328 sedan last night on my way home...my Monte had him by a car length (and it's got 235K reliable miles on it with the smallest engine available that year, thank you very much). Not saying my Monte is the fastest car in the world, but it gets out of it's own way just fine for a car that is large, comfortable, and can sneak into the 30MPG range on the hwy.

I don't want to add it all up .....Just in my exhaust I have probably over $1000. I am doing an LM7 intake, LS7 throttle body and MAF this winter.

Yes we are `Henry when it comes to someone that will post something negative about a Chevrolet Monte Carlo on a Monte Carlo Family Forum Sometimes, many times I just don't understand some humans (?) But in the USA/Canada & on the MCF we still have freedom of speech, and the right to ours & yours opinion(s). I personally, don't agree with everyone's opinions 4-Sure!

It doesn't mean that we will agree with them.

"Every Member's posted words do paint a picture in the Minds of the reader(s)" (good or bad)
On the MCF we do not condone > Words or posts that Hurt others 4-Sure <

And we move on & get back to the purpose of this thread questions.
Thanks `Brent, Michael, `Zach & Member's for your posts

I didn't mean to be taken so seriously. I'm sorry if I came across as genuinely upset. I thought my little rant had some joculation to it - but I also stand by what I said. I understood that Habbibie was just "poking the bear" for fun
