Love my 06 LTZ....... it hasevery option that you can get on an 06...... it gets good gas mileage.... almost as good as my HHR LT2.....
the only problem we have had with our monte is the thermastat went out....

The only mods that I have done...... is the Tinted glass... and the hand painted pin stripes..

I chose 80 to 100% only becasue every time I see a white 06+ version or an SS I'd wish I would If gotten those instead. My 02 when I had it was more like 60 -80%. It looked nice washed bit it wasn't fast and it had a few problems with it.

I chose 80-100%, not always 100%. The gas prices is what makes it not 100%... I love to drive it, it feels great and looks great, but it hurts to stop at the gas station.

I'm too old to worry about going up against anybody in a duel of a quarter-mile or anything like that.
I love it just the way it is.
I'd love it more if I could afford to do some of the things I'd like to do to her. I still don't have a spoiler and its Summer (almost).

But, It suits me. It grew on me. I;m happy loving it. Comfortable, quiet, decent stock music, nice leather, clean, good power for zooming my butt over to my sisters house in New York State across the Mass Pike where people drive like they took a Green Flag after getting the Toll Ticket and getting in the flow.

Hard to beat how nice it feels with the Cruise set at 78 and the music playing from the CD ... its a Sports-Luxury Car. Just what the Doctor ordered for my 60th Birthday coming-up!

a few pages back 'Space mentioned i can beat the Trans Am's in insurance and mpg's....

kinda wrong on on account and wrong on the other.

my buddies with V8's don't get much worse mileage than i do.. i can beat them by 2-3 mpgs.

as far as insurance... i checked it through geico and state farm? exact same for a monte as it is for a firebird trans am.

you know... my dad swears people used to get tickets on hte Jersey Turnpike when they'd hit the booth, and the time would set off a light that thye were averaging way too much speed. they'd write tehm a ticket for real... he made it a point after a few of his friends got them to always stop on the jersey turnpike somewhere. i don't know what massachusetts does but you might want to watch out for that.

For as long as I have been using the Mass Pike ... and, seeing how fast I can get to my sisters house ... I doubt, very much, that they do that. We're talking about the stretch of Interstate 90 from Sturbridge, MA -to- the State Line in New York.

I'm amazed by how fast some of that traffic is moving on the two-laner heading to The Empire State. Trucks doing 75-80. Big busses on the Casino express run ... passing and pushing 90.

I left my office in downtown Boston, one afternoon, and went from D'twn Beantown to Saratoga Springs,, NY in under 3 hours. The last time I came from New York to Boston, I was on my Yamaha 900, ... the normal flow in the slow lane was doing 80 and I stayed out in the left lane with the those who had the hammer down doing 90 or better sometimes. That old bike can go! The Bike's For Sale if anybody wants a Limited Edition Yamaha that will easily do the quarter in under 11 sec.

Thanks `Duane, for all your contribtuions, and pointing `out
that I was wrong [X(]
I thought your Monte would be better on `gas,
thena Trans Am & thatInsurance would be higher then
a Monte Carlo.
I learn so much about people on the MCF.
I'm learning 4 - Sure, for I am not a perfect
`human being : )
