Sorry if this isn't the right section. It's been a while since I've posted. I'm looking at an 2004 Monte Carlo Intimidator SS with 16,000 miles on it. The dealer wants 17,971 as their internet special price. KBB only has the Dale Jr. Edition and then "special" edition when trying to find out the right price to pay. Anytime I look it up, I choose Special Edition but I don't know if it is pricing it or not. $17K seems high and I probably won't get it regardless, but I just thought I'd ask for some help with this.

Strangely, they have it marked as both DEJr. and Sr. Edition so I don't know if that might the pricing issue?

 

That's very low mileage on rare Monte.
I would say 15k sounds about fair, it's still more than what I would be willing to shell on a 8 year car.

I agree. That dealer is completely riding on the fact it's a low miles, limited edition package car, named after a deceased legend in racing. Given the fact it's an 8 year old car, I'd have trouble justifying that amount of money unless it was going to be a collector car and NOT a daily driver.

 

IMO, for 16K miles, that carpet looks wrecked. I will put up my 03's with 42k against it any day.

And the dealer is a retard for posting ANYTHING about DE, Jr. concerning that car. Nothing more than trying to hook an unsuspecting foole. And, yes, ... I spell fool with an "e".

I have half a mind to call them. And the quantity of them made ... just like 03JG said ...

When I went and test drove the car earlier today, the carpets seemed fine to me. It might just be wet shoes leaving marks? I don't know, it's happened a lot at the dealer I used to work at.

I think it's way over priced - it's probably worth between $13,000 and $15,000.

 

yeah their internet sales team needs to do a little bit more research. I think 12000 to 15000 at the most if it's in perfect condition. It is a very low mileage car but to me that is not that important.
