How many tickets have you had ?
#21
No tickets (knock on wood) but I've been stopped 6 times.
2 times when I lived in Georgia for speeding in my 94 Bonnie and both times I had too many people in the car, and both times just got a warning.
Since living in NH I got stopped once for going 65 in a 45, I told them I was running late for work so they let me go.
I got stopped once because I drifted slightly into the breakdown lane so they thought I was drinking and I wasn't so they did a sobriety test which I passed so no ticket.
I got stopped again in my 99 Bonnie because they thought the exhaust was illegal, which it wasn't because it was a chambered dynomax muffler, which is 100% legal. It just happened to be at the end of the month, on a Friday night and he had someone else stopped and I went by him going up hill at part throttle which was when the exhaust was the loudest. Not even a mile later I see his blues on behind me. I didn't get a ticket.
I've only been stopped once in the monte shortly after buying it and that was just for a plate light being out, and I was only 500 feet from home. I think he just wanted to hear me talk to see if I was drinking because all he said after he ran my licence was have a good night
I think my radar detector and and a little luck has helped me not get any tickets. I always have and always will drive 5-10 mph over. I just can't drive the speed limit. Being my Monte stands out like a sore thumb I'll probably be stopped again in the future, but my theory is if you nice to the cop, they will be nice to you.

In the 11 years i've been driving i've recieved around 15 tickets or so. Most of those were when i had my brown 79 monte carlo. I think i got like 5 speeding tickets in the 4 years i had it plus several seat belt and other minor things like no front license plate. In my new monte carlo, i've been pulled over once. I had a couple beers at the bar and i didn't get slowed down fast enough when the speed limit dropped from 35 to 25. I barely blew over at the scene, but blew below the limit at the station, so i didnt get a DUI. No more drinking and driving for me. But i still have a leadfoot lol.

I was polite and nice. I got pulled over doing 80 in a 65 by the Arizona highway patrol. I was on my way from Las Vegas to Zion and you cross through a corner of Arizona. The speed limit goes from 75 to 65. He was hiding out of site in the brush. When he gave me my ticket he said happy birthday. Yup it was my birthday. Such a nice guy. lol

LoL `Todd, atleast he said Happy Birthday : )
He was just doing his `job,

I almost forgot, I did loose my license for 4 months, but it had absolutely nothing to do with driving. I was at a graduation party 2 miles in the woods and I was 18 and drinking. I passed out in the tent at 3 am and woke up to a cop shoving a breathalyzer in my face at 6 am. I blew a .06 and found myself in court a month later and the had to pay a $300 fine and they took my license for a 4 months. Which really sucks when your a mechanic. They called it internal possession and in NH anyone under 19 caught drinking looses their license for a minimum of 4 months, even if their doing the responsible thing and not drinking. And they hit me up for another $100 when I finally got it back
The part that really pissed me off is the people who caused the cops to get called by rallying up and down the roads and making all kinds of noise, were not invited and were not there when the cops showed up.
I guess the only good thing is is hasn't affected my insurance rate and I haven't drank since other then one here or there
