Checking in.
Just passed the 180,000 mile mark, 90,000 since the engine was replaced with a 45,000 mile used one.
Original transmission: Living with the inevitable breakdown. It slips now and then plus shifts wonky sometimes.
Also living with it's electrical gremlins that have plagued it since purchase - erratic airbag/seatbelt/traction control warnings that fix themselves with a stop and restart.
Replaced front wheel hubs this year. Replaced front brake pads & rotors. Oil changes every 5,000. Transmission service and coolant service every year.
Michelin Primacy tires holding up well. 105,000 miles on them and looking a bit checked but enough tread to last through summer. Will need replacing if it ever rains again in California.
Clearcoat paint on the roof rails has bubbled and is flaking away.
Sugaree keeps on going, taking me to work on my daily 75 mile commutes. Expect to see the 200,000 milestone next year. Stay together baby!

03 3.8 black ss. Recieved in 2008 as a graduation gift with 24,244 miles on it. Currently just broke 76,000. Problems since highly modding it are exhaust leak, tranny is on the way out and stall converter is not working with the cam. Brake lines pads and rotors are shot. Will never sell this car

Purchased 2004 Monte Carlo LS 3400 V6 in 2006 with 34,000 miles
Always do regular maintenance:
- oil and oil filter change 3,000-4,000 miles (Valvoline Max Life Oil for "Valvoline Engine Guarantee" .... 225,000 mile guarantee is what I signed up for)
- air filter once a year
- spark plugs once a year
- plug wires every 2 years
- coolant flush 7 fill once a year
- thermostat once a year
- cabin filter once a year (good for your A/C to run eff)
- tires, brake pads, rotors & battery as needed
- (I do all except coolant flush & tires)
- (2) Trans flushes
- Blower motor resistor (HVAC would only run on high or off)
- Water pump
- Power steering pump
- Fuel pressure regulator (engine ran like crap and stalling)
- Evap canister (check engine dummy light was on & threw a "mass vacuum leak" code)
- 150,000 - Low pressure and high pressure power Steering Lines
- 175,000 - Trans cooler lines
- 182,000 - broken front sway bar. Replaced front & rear sway bars and rear trailing arms.
- 184,000 Water pump, again
- 185,000 stepper motors on speedo cluster
- Battery, not sure when
- (I do all my own repairs.... no dealership / repair shop)

I have an 04 ls at 96K. The most major problem I've had was blowing out the radiator, but that was my fault. that also led to changing the water.pump. other than that, I've had to.change the thermostat multiple times, which is a giant pain in the ***. Also just changed the blower motor, and will have to reattach a rear defrost wire.
