2001 SS w/ 207.5K

I've put over 100k on it myself. Problems I've had to fix were EGR valve, Oil pan (That was a Bitch), CV Shaft, New Tires and a wheel hub and bearing. Also need to fix the blower resistor. Most was done recently. I've have had my traction control light on pretty much since i bought it. Fixed it once and it went out not to long after. Has to be the worst design on this car. Still have the original Trans which is most surprising to me.

wow, 207 thousand miles? original trans too? How are the shifts? Does the car still feel pretty smooth and responsive or can you tell it's wore out now?

Now I'm glad I went along and bought my LS1 Camaro instead of an LS4 Monte Carlo. LS1 is supposed to be a very reliable long lasting powerful engine. I wish it had the active fuel management like the LS4, but I also like the RWD better than the FWD, except for when it comes to rain/snow.

A turbocharged 3.8? How much horsepower is it putting out? Is it enough to run with my LS1?

Overall the only difference I have noticed is I feel like the engine has lost some power. The orig trans just started to start shifting a little bit higher then normal. Almost like its just starting to cry before it shifts which is usually an indication of the it wearing out. The car still runs as smooth as when I purchased it. I really couldn't be happier with it.

I wish my 2003 Monte Carlo SS could have made it to 200,000 miles. Had the 3.8 motor, 4t65e transmission, I was taking great care of all the internals, keeping fluids up, I had every intention of ensuring that car made it past the 200,000 mile mark. But it wasn't meant to be.

I've heard the LS1 is also able to pass the 200 k mark with ease, she's only got 45,000 now, but I would like to keep her until the end of my days, maybe some day pass that 200 k mark.
