How Hot Does...
...a brake caliper get on average? Anyone know? I don't have a pyrometer, so I can't take any radiant heat measurements. Since the brake caliper paint kits say they withstand up to 500° I assume it is less than that. I ask because there's a particular type/color of paint I'm thinking of using on my calipers, but they say it needs a temp of 400° in order to cure properly. Do you think the calipers get that hot? I suppose I could remove them from the car and put them in an oven, but I was hoping to do the job without having to bleed the brake system.
