RE: How to flush power steering
Ok
Cain I know you have an 06 Monte LTZ
Unless if I am missing some pages from my manual
NO WHERE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL DOES IT STATE THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID BE FLUSHED......
Matter effect it states when to check power steering fluid
Quote " it is not necessary to regularly check power steering fluid unless you suspect there is a leak in the system or you hear an unusual noise. A fluid loss in this system could indicate a problem. Have the system inspected and repaired" Unquote
page 5-36
This system is a semi-closed system. Unless if you have parts failure, the only way dirt will get into the system is by the operator not following the proper way of checking the system out. If you clean the cap and the area around the power steeering pump before you check the fluid level most likely you will not get dirt in it......

RE: How to flush power steering
"Most likely" is not a chance I'd take with a car myself. It's just my .02 worth that it is good routine maintenance to get into the habit of doing. If you or others don't want to then that's on you. I wouldn't want to take that chance. Do you have your fuel injection system cleaned every so often? I do. It runs better and keeps the gas mileage up. But then again just my opinion.

If you only knew what happens when you remove the old power steering fluid and replace with new.......
Clean power steering fluid (or some systems uses Dexron) cleans before it lubercates. This is where alot of leaks will start
but hey
its your money, enjoy spending it.
I think you said it before..... if you dont know what you are talking about dont post your answers (I think Im close to what you told someone) do your home work first. Sit back and learn a little
Thats my $1.00 worth.....
