well there are many handheld tuners you can use, you can get it professionally tuned, and you can also get a full suite to tune it (most expensive)

that works too... this guy does like air fuel ratio, timing, shift points, shift firmness, removes the top speed limiter and all kinds of stuff... he has the program on his lap top and he said it cost him like 600 but hes easily made it back doing tunes for everyone.. he knows his stuff for sure. he used to have a twin turboed monte... like 98 and it had the 3.8 in it... ran 8's in the 1/4 mile!

You can find dudes around pretty often that have either the DHP Powrtuner or the HPTuners VCM suite that can tune the 3800 cars. Usually doesn't cost that much.
Just make sure that they know what they are doing.
Using one of those tuning programs isn't exactly easy and takes a bit of time, so I wouldn't let just anyone tune your car.
I would rather do a street tune than a dyno tune honestly. It's usually cheaper, and you'd have it dialed in for your driving style.
You probably want to have a decent street tune down before you have it tweaked on a dyno anyways.
