okay, i havent noticed a loss in power but i will check to see if it glows

 

Mine idles at about 1400 for maybe 6-7 seconds and then down to `000-1200... and don't jump to conclusions too quick. Lots of people will tell you "well if the check engine isn't on, the cat is fine" Catalytic converters are quirky about that light. Sometimes they can go bad and the computer never know one way or the other and vice versa. How many miles do you have on your car? What weight oil are you running?
