Just about 140k on My 03 SS its my first an only car as of right now so I been taking good care of it I want to keep it as long as possible
I use Mobile 1 synthetic and run only Premium Gas. The car been running good its my everyday & every season driver theres no mods on it I keep up with the basic maintenance and I just recently learned my valve cover, LIM, UIM & oil pan gaskets have failed.. so I dont have much time before i ruin my engine but as soon as i fix this i shouldnt have any trouble getting this car to 200k with how well I look after it an how its driven

I see someone pulled up an old thread, but a bit of a good read.
So it sounds like, if you take good care of it, it will last a long time.
I'm at 230,000 km's, (about 140k miles), but its already showing signs of wear.
Water pump went just after warrantee was over. Did shocks and bearings. Transmission, last year, re-built by TEP. Plugs, Coils, Wires, and a few sensors. Runs better than ever.
Rusting rear fender, GM rust warrantee, "Claim Denied"
I'm hoping to keep it going a long time as my commuter car and winter beater.
Anybody else with 7th gen run up the miles yet? I hear the tranny is a problem on the ls4?

My Monte has 202,509 on her and she runs great! I run Castrol GTX. I'm a firm believer in it.

both of mine now have 200k + just hit 200k with the ss the other day, i do regular oil changes, seafoam it from time to time, and i only run ethinol free gas. The price is more but less wear to the engine is worth it.

Ethanol-free gas is hard to find in Texas only a hundred or so pumps across the entire state. Closest station I could find is 30 minutes away in the middle of nowhere. I would gladly pay extra to run straight gas.....sadly Politics forces my car to run on corn byproducts....

In Oklahoma its still everywhere. But then driving on those roads would tear up my car faster than ethanol.

PS is there a low-mileage MC club? only 8k original on my 04 LS (bought it from a old lady who only drove it on sundays)

Default High Miles

I have a 2000 Monte LS...200k miles on her and My Baby purrs like a kitten! I get regular tune ups and oil changes, basically all of the parts excluding the transmission and engine have been replaced and she gets excellent gas mileage...I was just kind of wondering what the average amount of miles I could get out of this engine? Its an awesome car and I think I'm ready to sell it because I want the newer model monte carlo...can somebody tell me?

132k on my 02 SS Intimidator. I don't consider that high knowing that these 3.8 series 2 engines last forever. Mobil 1 full synthetic and K and N filters is what I use. Haven't had it long but plan to.

My Minion has 194k clocked, 3109 miles were put on her from 03/23/2015 - 03/28/2015 in a 5 day cross country trip across the Northern USA.
She had gotten an oil change. All her Mechanicals and Electronics were done. Exhaust, Suspension, 2 new tires. She made the trip and did not complain once. In western S. Dakota the speed limit was 80 mph. She did 84 mph for 200 miles and asked for more.
So this w/e she will get another oil change with a new Oil Filter Housing Cause the old one is cracked and leaks a little, even though her oil is still clean from the one she got right before we left. The following w/e she will get new Plugs and Wires. I'm thinking Accel 8.8mm just cause the look good.
In 3 years I've give her a new lease on life and she gave me a Smooth and easy ride in return.
