HERE ARE SOME PICS OF THE TAILLIGHTS
I think the tail lights and the exhaust look awesome!
The exhaust fills the cutouts great.
And the blacked out tails look great on a white car. Together with your future window tint, the car will look terrific.

Thanks Taz that means a lot. I really like the lights on the white car, can't wait to get the tinted windows. The exhaust tips are 3.5". I was first thinking 3" but the 3.5" is just about perfect.
I have read somewhere else, cant remember where, on the internet that tinting the brake lights, or putting anything over them (including the ram shaped heads you see on alot of dodge rams) is not illegal, but if you get rear ended or anything like that the accident becomes your fault. It has to do with "restricted visability" of your lights. I'll do some digging and see if I can find anything about it.

my brother is in training to be a cop. and he said that he knows for a fact that doing anything at all to your tailights (other than amber bulbs) is illegal. but hey thats just the state of Minnesota. Im sure its legal in most other states, they are kinda sticklers here when it comes to cars...
yea, I can tell you right now that its illegal in minnesota. it sucks... heres my mods:
I live in SD for college, but drive home to WI for holidays and such, so I drive through Minnesota also
This shows you whats legal where:
Mod Name SD MN WI
Underbody Y N Y (only when stationary in WI)
20% Tint Y N N (35% with reflection in WI)
Plate cover N Y N
Light covers Y N Y
Vinyl on car N N N ( side windows create blindspots and the eyebrows are longer than 4" down windshield )
Thats all I can really think of thats illegal and tossed up.... I gotta say though, your lights look sweet!

I love the look of these lights and as much as I would love to get a set I'm afraid they are illegal in Kansas. I could probably get away with using them but my luck is that I would get ticketed for using them and then I would be out $200.
They look awesome on you guys cars.

A lot of people have done the tinted tails on a second set of tail lights. Keeping the originals untouched. That way if the cops say something to you, you can simply swap the originals back in.
If it sounds like something you'd like to try, keep an eye out on the net and local junk yards. Then get yourself a can of VHT Nightshade spray tint. The nice thing about VHT Nightshades, you can make it as light or as dark as you want by adding more layers. Once you reach your desired darkness, maybe hit it with some clear coat to protect the tint, and to make it glossy again.
