4th Gen ('81-'88): Hemmings article & brochure pics on 1981 Monte Carlo
Once in a while, Hemmings has a feature concerning some Monte Carlo history. They put this one out a few days ago, about the 1981 model:

Back then, the MC had a turbo engine option, which was the primitive (carbureted) version of the 3.8 turbo V-6. Not the greatest time period for get-up-and-go, sure, but, umm... hey, check out those T-tops!
There was also a diesel engine option for the MC at around the same time, but we don't talk about that.

Still a good article for history. 1981 was 37 years ago now...
