I am all smiles form ear to ear with thisfind.
It's a 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo... pretty normal right.... except that it has a factory 3.8L tubo V6 in it that runs!
I haul scrap cars with my flat deck for extra cash and got an email from a lady asking me to "come pickup this old piece of crap" from her carport.
Her son bought it some 10yrs ago and has let it sit there all that time.
At present it runs ok but needs much love to come back to stock performance even.
Not sure if this is correct but according to GM there were only 706 of these cars ever imported into Canada (thats where i am) with the metric dashes and this engine.
It even came with a thm-350 trans in the trunk, not sure why as the one in it works fine.
here's some pics of it for you guys

Tomorrow it's gonna go for a "super bath". As you can see she's dusty and under the hood is a few snake skins and 2 mouse houses.
Once i get this baby all cleaned up and polished i'll post some new pics.
On the pass side door it's missing the trim, does anyone know what other models had the same trim on them? I would assume all the monte's had it and the regals.
Just for curiosity what are these cars worth?

1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Review
The 1981 Monte Carlo featured a completely restyled body,
including vertical taillights which hearkened back to the 1970-77 models.
This body style would persist until 1988, and was similar to the
other GM mid-size coupes, including the Pontiac Grand Prix.
Despite changes to its body, the engine of the 1981 Monte Carlo
remained the same.
The base engine was a 229-ci V6 rated at 110 horsepower.
Two V6 engines were optional, including a 231-ci rated at 110,
and a turbo-charged Buick 231-ci rated at 170 horsepower.
For those wanting the feel of 8 cylinders, a 267-ci V8 rated at
115 horsepower and a 305-ci rated at 150 horsepower were available.
Hi Gordon, I did not know that Chevy had a 3.8L Turbo
in 1981. If no one has the information needed here on
the MCF. Check out the below link on Turbo Buick Forum

That Monte is probably more rarer now days then the diesel Montes from the 1980s. Any of them left, the majority were swapped over to gasoline Olds engines.
Cool find!!!!!!
