So the guy posting about his 06 LT reminded me that I wanted to make a topic and ask about gear ratios in the 4t65-e HD..

Can someone explain to me what years had which..

What exactly they mean (which is shorter gears, which is longer..?)

What options I have on changing mine..

And whats the benefits (other than a little acceleration)..

Thanks a bunch.. Its something ive really been wanting to understand but just cant rap my head around some of the stuff I read on the internet.. Like the GP forums and such..

 

Me understanding is 3.29 gears were used in NA cars and 2.93gears were used in SC cars.

2.93 will have more top end and not quite as much acceleration.

3.29 won't have as much speed but will have more acceleration.

I am using a rare 3.11 set that can't even be bought anymore and I love it! It's the best of both worlds!
