happy friday to all of you
hi everyone, i just wanted to throw this out there for all of you to read.
i went to start my 06 monte lastnight after work to go home and it took about 5 attempts to get started, it would crank slightly and then just click, but it started. so i had today off to get some things done around the house, no big deal. i got my payment booklet in the mail after 3 weeks of owning my newer car, sucks, but i can deal with it. ok also got a message from my benefits provider and remembered i have a meeting on monday about benefits, so i need to reset my login for benefits and my info is in my car. i went out to get the member cards to reset password (hopefully) and just for the heck of it i thought why not just see if my car would be hard to start so i tried and nothing. i called the dealer i bought it from at about 2:30 this afternoon (i was furious) and they said they will call the service department and they arranged to take the car to get checked out. they arranged for tow truck to pick the car up, tow truck showed up and i went with the guy, drive was on PA turnpike for 1 exit and then about 3 miles to the dealer. they knew i was pissed so they kinda took it right away. i smoked a cigarette and then one of the salesman came out and took me inside to the showroom and we spoke for a little while, the salesman went to check on the car and they determined it had one dead cell and the battery was junk, alternator was good, so they replaced the battery at no cost and now i'm here watching the hockey game (penguins vs capitals)!
so long story short after 3 weeks of owning the car it needed towed ($110 + 90) for the battery done at no charge, i guess i'm not so mad but i didn't get anything done around the house. thanks for listening and sorry for bad grammar, see ya, pengiuns winning 4-2 now! sweet

You're not the first to mention problems with the factory battery in the 06 & 07 Montes. Almost every 06 & 07 Monte owner on here has mentioned that they had to have the original battery replaced. A couple more than once.
Maybe next time go with an Optima battery. I've seen a lot of people have good luck with them.

Ya after your battery's warranty ends you should invest in an optima red top. Same thing happened to my red 03. I made them flat bed the car over to the dealership and they replaced the battery at no charge and no towing fee either. Whenever either of my Montes need a new battery I will certainly put red tops in them.

oh ok. i thought you meant that they replaced the battery for free but you had to pay to have it towed. good to hear!!
i'm not a hockey fan much anymore, but i think the yankees are finally going to win a game! it's 4-0 in the bottom of the 9th (they're in baltimore). today was a-rod's 1st game back, and he hit a 3-run homer on the first pitch he saw in the first inning. what a welcome!!

Hi `Chris, glad that they fixed & covered the expense.
I think they should pay something for the lost time & inconvenience.
Or atleast a free Big Mac Combo : ) lol
Wish you trouble free miles...EnJoy your Monte Carlo.
