Mines been called an Impala before and also.. a Mustang.

I used to get a few comments on my 02, and i get quite a few on this 06 now.

 

Have had a couple people compilment me never had it confused with a impalla but i'm sure the Monte Carlo across the windshield helps,

Wierdest on i had was some mexican who barley spoke english come up to me while waiting for my budy outside the liqiour stor, complimented my car and offered me a penthouse, i politely declined

 

It is true tons of Mustangs and Cameros on the road but few Montes that are kept up

 

That's also true. Seems like half the Montes that I do see are in some state of disrepair. It's sad.

 

I have had a few compliments, it seems like the gas station is the most common spot. My bosses girlfriend called my car an impala just last night. One time a guy told me I had a nice Thunderbird lol

 

I know the feeling!
When I took mine out the first time after it was finished... Especially at gas stations etc...
They'd say..what kinda car is that?...(even though the name is on the side of it) lmao...
Even still today parked outdoors people stop and say nice car.... So yes the MonteCarlo is a very unique Automobile...

I was out with my Dad one day back a few years ago, in his '11 Buick Lacrosse CXS, and overheard some guy say "hey look at that new Lexus" as he walked by lol.
