Id get the gtp because they are closer to the monte in style. I never liked the look of the cobalt since it came out. I think they are too small. Glad your ok and good luck with what you chose. And don't be a stranger.

i ocasionally drive the pontiac sibiling the G5. IMO im not a fan of it, cheap cramped interior, had a stiff sporty ride which can be good. but i just dont really like it.

I'd go witht he GTP honestly I like the ride better and as stated previously its easier to get mods for. If the Colbalts are anythign like my grandparents 07 G5 (which I assume they are basically the same car?) then I'd have to say the look nice but the ride isnt all that great and the car is pretty small inside on top of being basic, beside the pioneer sound system and a few little things here and there.

I'm seventeen, and the insurance guy just got back to me, so it seems like my budget is now a lot smaller, more in the $7000 range, dont think I could find a cobalt for that unless anyone here has a hook up

A supercharged monte or the new v8 SS isnt something you'd be intrested?? Its still a monte, both would be faster than the N/A 3800 and are both top of the line from the 6th gen supercharged and the 7th gen SSv8

Sorry to hear about your Monte and I'm glad you are OK.
My 05 SS is for sale for $8000 and I'm located in northeastern IL.
