GM overuse of SS Emblem

RE: GM overuse of SS Emblem
This is so true. GM is really is tossing the SS title around too easily, like in the current malibu and 00-05 montes. Personally, I really dont think my 03SS should be an SS. Come on, its a FWD and the 3800 barely pushes 200hp. The supercharged version prob deserves it though. My dad makes fun saing, "this is the weakest SS ive ever seen!". I sadly agree. I still love my car, even if it is a phony-SS!

yah, i've noticed that lately, an ss should be a more rare model than any of the other ones, but yah, lately there' putting ss on everything
even our little s10 @ work has ss on it, but its no more special than a regular 4.3l s10

They also seem to use the exact same "SS" wheel on every SS model too.

I noticed that too. The Cobalt SS, Malibu/MAXX SS, Monte Carlo SS& Impala SS all seem to eitheruse the same rim design, or the same exact rims. Ithink the Malibu SS& Cobalt SS (supercharged)have factory 18" wheels like the Monte SS& Impala SS, so I guess they may just be the same exact rims.

RE: GM overuse of SS Emblem
nothing against GM /chevy using the SS badging on any car that fits the bill cause we cant think about it the same way they did back in the 60's big motor reardrive car's now in days the cars are smaller motors are smaller less power but also less weight so some of todays SS cars deserve the badge and some dont i personely love the cobalt ss its a muscle car of today we mite not all like were the car industry is going but thats what it is but the thing that i dont like is when they put the SS name on a 4 door with a body kit no thats just wrong the SS needs to be a performer
