Getting Ready to Sell the Monte
Dealers are such a PITA sometimes. I have a decent relationship with the local chevy dealer here, but haven't bought anything from them in a long time. Kind of tired of buying brand new cars and losing huge amounts of value as soon as you drive them off the lot. 11.5k seems pretty low to me. My local dealer showed me some inside info on auction prices on 06 SS's in my recent search for a car. They are averaging high 13k's to mid 14k's as of a month ago. Your extras aren't going to mean much to them unfortuantely. You have the color combo I'm looking for, but I'm looking for one with the darker interior. Still looking at 04-05 supercharged versions of that color scheme as well as 03 pace car editions if the right deal comes up on any of the 3 I'll be happy. Good luck with the sale, a local guy I know bought the first SS camaro here, it is very nice.
Well my new baby is built and I have received a VIN# only a week or two until delivery. Have had my Monte on autotrader and Cars.com for 3 weeks now and have not recieved a single call. Guess I'm going to have to take the hit at the stealership
Have you tried Craigs list? I had an 06 Mini Cooper S that I needed to sell this past winter because I couldn't afford the $400 monthy car payment anymore due to my job loss. I too tried auto trader and ebya and didn't get any hits. I had it on Craigs list for only 2 weeks and got a couple of serious buyers and I sold it to a guy that lived in Columbia MO.
ive sold some vehicles on craigslist, i did not use my email, just left a phone number. of course, i got some idiots calling, but most of the people who take the time to move from their seat to call are fairly serious about wanting to buy. plus they should give you more for the mods you did.
remember, cash talks and BS walks.
unless they come themselves to look at the car, dont sell. talk about the price in person, face to face, a cash deposit, and dont accept a check or mony order, wait to have an envolope filled with cash in your hand before you hand over the keys.
a pain, but its the safest way to do things
