good luck on the new car!

I wouldnt really compare an 2006 to a 2009-2012. Quality and features have advanced alot since 2006. A much more fair comparison would be a 2006 Accord to a 2006 Monte Carlo. My buddy has a 2006 honda accord and has had way more issues than my monte. plus the interior is close to the same in quality, imo.

Sorry your monte was givin you issues.. if i had the money id love to take it !

p.s. taz is right about consumer reports.. theyre extremely biased.

Sorry to hear about all your problems. But I have a feeling a lot of the leaks were from the low mileage. Did it sit a lot or get driven short distances?

Monday thru Friday driven to work 8 miles one way, so about 100 miles a week. Rarely driven on the weekends. Only taken to the Indy 500 on about 3 trips which is 200 miles one way... LS model is you get what you pay for...

Car looks great no door dings or dents. When I did wax it just used Meguiarswash, clay and Meguairs Cleaner wax with my Porter Cable. Just not worth all that work...

Plus #24 and #48 don't run that style anymore, but Hendrick sells Hondas

Seems like you didn't care much for it anyway. Ohh well, you've got a new car now.

Lost interest after the interior quality issues were apparently getting worse with the drivers seat creaking and popping and the DIC driver's door is open message keeps coming up... Just don't want to deal with it, plus the cost of the tires and the brakes due in the Spring I can get a set of nice alloys for the Accord.

Attached some photos of how it looks after I have detailed it...

Needed a door latch. For future reference if anyone is "searching"

well 8 miles is part of prob. not really enough time to let engine get hot. Your just driving a cold engine. The accords are nice, I really like the coupes(not a sedan fan I dont fit in most). Let it idle for a few min and warm up befor you go might help future cars. 8 miles wont even blow the carbon out of the exhaust.

If 8 miles was the problem most Americans would have serious automobile issues. Something like 50+% of people have a one way commute to work less than 10 miles.

Where you live maybe where I live average commute is 20+. Everyone drive to stl for work and alot of people in stl take bus. I drive 35 miles a day one way. Most everyone I know drives at least 20+. I think the 50% stat is slightly off. Why do you think some cars have rotted exhaust and others dont. From not blowing out the condensation.

BTS | Figure 2 - On a typical day, how many miles one-way do you travel from home to work?

Seems like the US Department of Transportation agrees with me. I'm not saying it's that way everywhere, but I can tell for everyone like my brother that drives 100 miles one way to work, there are 20 people like me that go less than 5.
