That would be great news if it's true. The 1995-2007 Montes had 4 door cousins. And often times the Monte was called either a 2-door Lumina, or a 2-door Impala. If they want to make a 2-door version of the next generation Impala and call it the Monte Carlo, I'm all for it.

I thought the whole move to eliminating 2-door cars from the Big 3's line up, was a big mistake. Eliminating a car simply because it's a 2-door is dumb. I get the whole thing with eliminating the Monte in 2008. The car's current design was 8 model-years old. It wasn't selling well in the last few years. And it needed a complete re-design. And GM wasn't in the financial position to take a chance re-designing a failing model.

Hopefully GM is in a better position to take a chance on bringing back the Monte again. Which is why it's so important to make sure Montes are well represented everywhere possible.

 

I could settle for a v6 + cadillac build quality/ interior.

6 Speed Auto or Stick....RWD or AWD + + + + ++ Oh, a a dash with gauges (oil pressure/temp- Amp gauge/etc & not idiot lights ) A performance/luxury/touring coupe for 4 +
one in the trunk : )<~ the one U don't like : ) or didn't shower: )

This would be cool and all but I dont know if I should believe it.. I/we here this stuff all the time. But in a few years when I look to buy a new car sadly enough I probably wont go with a GM. I will probably buy a Lexus; I like where Lexus is going, their designs and some of their newer cars a outstanding, the ISF is like a dream. The only GM car ill buy again are the Corvette and a Denali.

 

I wouldn't get my hopes up, I know you say you spoke to a GM rep. but I do a lot of surfing on the net, and speak to GM reps @ the GM Nationals....there is zero talk of the MC nameplate coming back anytime soon....

The new Impala isn't suppose to come out till 2014, and around the sametime, there is more rumor of a Chevelle returning as a regadge Commodore (G8) and even the Wagon/Ute coming afterwards but again not even a mention of a MC so I don't see it even possible till way after 2014/2015 if at all.

I saw a Caprice at the dealer the other day - They are selling them to the cops. I hope they eventually sell them to the public. Rear wheel drive, V8, 355 HP, nice.

Yeah those are based on the holden Senator, a few slipped through and were sold to the general public but they are only gunna be sold to law enforcement, probably be able to pick up one used in a few years.
