Default firebird rearend in a monte?

my dads gettin a formula firebird and it has a posi rear or limited slip or whatever. he said hes not sure if he wants to keep it or trade it for a truck. if he gets rid of it we want to swap the rearend into my car. will the whole assembly just swap right in or do i have to swap internals?

the rear it self will not bolt in for sure not the same set up we have a 4 link set up and the have a panhard bar set up
and not sure if you can change the guts because some of the f-body's got a 7.3/4 rear
the best bet is to look for a stock g-80 limited slip unit off e-bay or somthing

Ya it would be a lot of work to get it to fit... only to have it break on you if you make any kind of power. a v8 F-body with a manual tranny really would have no trouble breakin a rear end if you put sticky tires on it. the little ring gear in them makes them the weak point of the car. lots of f-body guys hate them and ive seen lots of broken ones
