Thought I'd share this video I dug up while searching for old racing vids of my car. I find this clip cool just because of the sound of my engine that you can hear winding up in the distance and finally a nice muscular exhaust sound from my Flowmaster Series 40's as I pass. This video was shot by a member of my local car club PDXCGP. She was recording though a "port hole" in the bridge that passes over the dragstrip. I am bracket racing against a Grand Prix GTP. In case you are wondering, I won and went onto the next round.

Nice video. It just makes me laugh seeing those FWD cars with the CAI and the missing headlight. ) Nice sound from your car.

 

I have four trophies that were given out within our club at our end of the year holiday party. From 2005, I took 3rd place for Personal Best ET, for 2006 I took (I think, doesn't say) 2nd place for Personal Best ET and for 2007 I took 2nd place for Naturally Aspirated and 2nd place (I think, doesn't say) Personal Best ET. As far as car shows go, I took home 2nd place in 70's class in the 2007 Pizza Barron Cruise-In. Eventhough I had just ripped off the vinyl top of my car two months earlier, I beat out the Rose Festival 1971 Pontiac Catalina because I showed my engine compartment and they didn't.

As for racing, we don't really do trophies for that. PFYC gives the event winner and year winner a gift certificate. The winner of an event wins a $25 gift certificate, while the first place winner for the year gets a $150 gift certificate and second place gets a $50 gift certificate. I came close in 2006. It came down to the final event of the season that determined the yearly winner. I was in first place all year until the final event. I ended up being third.
